Art is what drives me most often. Just having that 30 minute lunch every day, making it possible for me to draw or tweak a drawing and get my aggitations out, is a blessing. Working in retail has never been an easy job for anyone, and some have a niche for it while others simply don't. I do, but not on any extreme level. It would help if I worked more with animals then clothes. heh.
Ultimately I would love to work in Veterinary Forensic Pathology, which includes autopsies on deceased animals to find the causes of their death, and potentially use those findings to prosecute animal abusers. I would also like to work with animals who were rescued from abusive homes and rehabilitate them into another home so they may have a second chance at life. I understand how difficult this field of work would be, but it is a necessary thing. Not enough people are stepping up and doing something about this. I'm taking a chance, and hope to have an effect on not only the laws surrounding animal abuse, but the lives of animals who have been so needlessly exposed to it. People need to take responsibility, and sometimes it takes another person to initiate the steps.
I'm into the furry fandom as well, but I'm not into some of the more extreme aspects of it. A lot of people assume being furry means beastiality; zoophellia, necrozoophellia, child molesters, etc. It's not the case. I am none of these things. I'm an artist who loves animals, who enjoys fursuiters when the costumes are realistic. Some of the ones I've seen are breathtaking, and it takes a certain type of person to create such spectacular costumes.
I am designing my own currently with a method not used by anyone else, which also adopts from a variety of different styles. I'm using mostly plastic canvis, and a limited amount of soft foam to keep the shape realistic. I'm torn between getting eyes for it, or simply getting contact lenses and using my own eyes. It would certainly be neat to have those contact lenses, however purchasing eyes may be a bit more practical financially in the long run.
Colored contacts are especially expensive when you consider the odd ones which resemble those of cats, wolves, sheep, etc. However when you consider purchasing plastic eyes and using a thin mesh to see passed them, your vision is more-so limited, and the effect of moving eyes cannot be accomplished without machinery, which is just as expensive as purchasing those funky contact lenses. It goes with preference, I suppose.
I'm big on photography also, and enjoy taking trips when time allows, to photograph anything that catches my fancy. I work with an old fashion Canon AV-1, but anticipate purchasing an expensive digital for certain events. When you're working with film cameras, particularly older ones which don't offer faster shudder speeds, and suddenly having to change out a lense, makes photography a real challange and limits the amount of good snaps. I love my old camera, but it's inconveniant at times. Still, it's perfect for some things, and can produce better quality pictures than most other cameras. The strength of it's results is sometimes unmatchable. Digital is wonderful, but this too has limitations much as film cameras do. Some things you simply don't capture on digital, but some things are impossible to capture on film.
This is one of my better examples. This photograph was captured on a standard box Nikon, which was given to me several years ago by my Father.

This was scanned up, and lost some of it's quality because of that.
It has gone to Maine with me, Florida, across the U.S. on a road trip, and all the way back including Lousiana, Kentucky, Georgia, Mississipi, Florida, New Mexica, California, North and South Dakota, New York State, Missouri, Massachusetts, Montana, Idaho, Washington State, Utah, Texas, Iowa, Illinois.. well, let's just say most of the U.S. Hehe. The AV-1 has yet to leave Washington State with me, but has been used a few times locally and hopefully will be used soon at some of the Wildlife preserves.

This image was originally photographed in Florida at a graveyard near where I lived. The little girl was added later on after turning it black and white, which I thought gave it an excellent atmosphere and meaning. The original was photographed with my little Nikon at 400 speed.
